About Us

Who We Are

We are a Christian church founded in the reformed Protestant tradition and affiliated with the Presbyterian Church USA. Founded in 1828, we are the first non-Indian church to be organized in Hamilton County.  Our congregation continues to faithfully bear the “Torch of the Gospel” to actively minister to our community.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
As Presbyterians we share our faith with all other Christians in Jesus Christ as our risen Savior and Lord.We believe the Holy Bible is God’s inspired Word given to guide in our relationships to God and our fellow man. We believe in two sacraments: baptism and communion. Our Core beliefs are best stated in THE APOSTLES’ CREED
“I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.”  (* universal church)
